Mr. Jessie Curtis Smith April 21, 1947-June 1, 2019

Home Going Service For Jessie Curtis Smith, age 72 who passed away June 1, 2019 At Wesley Medical Center, Hattiesburg, MS.

Services for Mr. Smith will be Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11: 00 am at Little Rock MB Church 1038 Highway 586, Foxworth, MS 39483.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 6, 2019 from 4-8 pm at Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 519 Owens Street Columbia MS, 39429.

Burial will be in Little Rock Church Cemetery.

Mr. Jessie “Pee-Wee” Curtis Smith was born on April 21, 1947, to Mr. L.C. and Mrs. Floree Smith. Jessie passed away on June 1, 2019 at the age of 72, at the Merit Health Wesley Hospital. Jessie was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Smith; father, L.C. Smith; brothers, Andy Smith, Ferie Smith, Thomas Charles Smith; one sister, Augustine Smith Young; sister-in-law, Ella Mae Smith; and nephew, Ronnie Smith.

Jessie worked as an Airplane Mechanist and served dutifully in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972. He also worked as a Supervisor for Masonite Steel, Boddie Trucking and served as Union President for Bonny Bread.

Jessie was a very good friend to everyone whose life he touched. Family and friends knew they could count on Jessie if they ever needed anything. He could usually be found at the following places: at home with Momma “Flo”, at the Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church, or at the Columbia VFW Post 5393. Jessie loved sports and had a great love for baseball. His favorite team was the Los Angeles Dodger’s Baseball Team.

The memories of Jessie will be cherished by: his mother, Floree Smith; brother, Willie H. Smith; wife, Dessie J. Smith; son, Billy Wayne Quinn; granddaughters, Teala Quinn and Nola “Sunshine” Quinn; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Martin; many cousin, nieces and nephews. (He had a special love for nephews Ricky and Randy Smith), other relatives and friends.
