The funeral services for the late Mrs. Mandy Marlowe Thornton, who departed this life on Monday, April 14, 2025, will be held on Saturday, Arpril 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m from the New Beginning Church of God by Faith in Sylvester, Georgia. Elder Ulysses Teague, Pastor, will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow inthe Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. Mandy Marlowe Thornton was born December 25, 1933 in Ben Hill County, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. and Mrs. Will and Ludie Woodard Marlowe.

Mandy confessed Christ as her personal Savior and joined the First Born Holiness Church. Throughout her life, she moved her membership to various churches: Gospel Temple of Peace, Mt. Zion Holiness Church, and lastly New Beginning Church of God By Faith, where she continued her work of Faith.

In 1953, Mandy was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Moses Thornton. This union was blessed with three daughters and two sons.

Mrs. Thornton, an old pioneer of Turner County, made many lifetime friends, who knew her and loved her, each in his own way. She was known for her outspoken nature and love for her family. Mandy delighted in cooking and loved attending church, praising God.

On Monday, April 14, 2025, our dearly beloved one’s life came to an end at her home. The Angel of Death came and visited, after her running the race of life and finishing her fight of Faith. God released her from her pain and called her to Rest. Mandy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mr. Moses Thornton, three sisters, two brothers, four sisters-in-law, nine brothers-in-law, and one grandchild.

Those left to cherish her precious memories are three daughters, Emma (Willie) Morrow, Mary (Steve) Burns, both of Ashburn, Georgia, Dianne (Paul) Beckhom of Tifton, Georgia; two sons, Billy (Michelle) Thornton of Tifton, Georgia, Willie Thornton of Ashburn, Georgia; ten grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren; two devoted granddaughters, Debbie D. Thornton, Marjanita Morrow; one sister, Doris M. Bell of Ashburn, Georgia; one brother, Daniel (Dorothy) Marlowe of Lake Park, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relative and sorrowing friends.
