Jimmy “The Hawk” Louis Sykes, 86, was born August 31,1938 in Historic James City, North Carolina.

Jimmy, affectionately known as “The Hawk,” passed away on April 2, 2025, at the age of 86 in California.

A devoted husband he leaves his loving wife, Velvatine Sykes; eight children; sisters, Betty Sykes and Brenda Sykes -Johnson of New Bern; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
