Jerri Lynn (Makings) Chambers, 67, passed from this life peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025 in the chapel of White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, Texas.

Jerri was born June 30, 1957 in Glennwood Springs, Colorado to Marvin Charles and Barbara Jean (Lapp) Makings. She spent her life serving others as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, working at the clinic in Bowie and later, working in home health where she served patients in Bowie, Chico, Bridgeport and Decatur. Jerri loved her pets and was talented in many ways, including crocheting, sewing, drawing, and acrylic pour painting. Her greatest achievement, however, was her two children, Jacobi and John. One of her fondest memories that she spoke of often was living in Perryton, Texas, raising her children. She loved like no other and cherished every moment she could with family.

Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, niece Frankie Makings, and brother-in-law, George Cowley.

Surviving relatives include her daughter, Jacobi Chambers and her significant other, Lynn Dutton of Iowa Park, Texas; son, John Chambers of Guthrie, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Teagan and Mathew; three siblings, Jeanne Cowley of Chico, Texas; John Makings and his wife, Sue of Bowie; and Jim Makings and his wife, Brenda of Bowie; her best friend, Debbie Bowles of Walters, Oklahoma; and the father of her children, Gary Chambers of Ryan, Oklahoma.

Memorials are suggested to the Bowie Animal Shelter.
