Marcus Calhoun, 53, passed on Friday, March 28, 2025 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Friday, April 4, 2025 at Providence Baptist Church, Lato, AL with Pastor Felix Worthen, officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Public viewing is 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
On January 21, 1972, God blessed the world with the life of Marcus Ramon Calhoun, born to John and Katie Calhoun in Phenix City, AL. Marcus attended Central High School and throughout his life, exemplified resilience, transformation, and a deep commitment
to growth. He was a former entrepreneur whose journey led him to embrace mentorship and inspire others through his dedication to positive change and personal redemption.
On Friday, March 28, 2025, Marcus peacefully answered his Master's call, joining his beloved family members who preceded him in death. His parents John and Katie Calhoun; his sisters, Neitha Foster
and Shenna Tolbert; his niece, Asha Calhoun; and his nephew, Joshua Calhoun.
Marcus's legacy of love, strength, and perseverance will live on through those who cherished him. He is survived by his long time companion, Melissa Lowe; his three children, Marketta Black, Jasmine Black, and Jamarcus Calhoun all of Phenix City, AL one
sister, Jacqueline (Willie) Barnes of Urbana, AR; three brothers, Timothy (Cosandra) Fair, Norman "Bubba" Calhoun, and Osanta (Lashalle) Calhoun, all of Phenix City, AL; seven grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will continue to honor his memory.
