Ellwood Keel Davis Jr., age 66, of Athens, GA formerly of Coraopolis died on Friday, March 21st. He was born on August 4th, 1958, to the late Ellwood Keel Davis Sr. and Maureen Davis, (née Coon). He was a loving husband to Melissa Davis (née Loyal), a great father to Tracy Cole (née Davis) and Byron (Asia) Davis. He was a wonderful brother to Vanessa Oncken (née Davis), Miriam Davis, David Davis, and Daniel (Philana) Davis. He is proceeded in death by his sisters, the late Kathryn Davis, Glory McDonald (née Davis) and Ruth Pompey (née Davis). He enjoyed spending time and playing with his six grandchildren, Miniru “MJ” Cole Jr., Honor Davis, Sunni Love, Meyer Davis, Onyx Davis, and Braxton Davis. Ellwood, known as Wood(y) by his family and many friends, was a good friend to have in good times as well as in challenging times. He always had wise advice to share whenever someone came to him with a problem or a question. He was a graduate of Case Western Reserve University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. He went on to work for prestigious companies such as IBM, PwC, Booz Allen Hamilton, and Deloitte to name a few. His career as an Information Technology Executive spanned over 20 years and included positions as an Enterprise Architect, Management Consultant, Project Manager and Owner/Consultant. His accomplishments include leading the Army CIO office in the analysis of the Defense Integrated Human Resource Management System program and re-engineering the Foreign Military Sales, its Solution Architecture, and Supply Chain. He was a highly intelligent man and never missed a teaching moment, often discussing one of his favorite subjects, physics. He was a lover of music; a family man and he loved the Lord. He was a servant of the Lord and not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Visitation will take place on Saturday, March 29th from 11am - 1pm at R.D. Copeland, Ltd., 867 Fifth Avenue, Coraopolis 15108. The Funeral service will take place immediately afterwards from 1pm - 2pm.
