Cynthia Joyce Rice, daughter of L.C. and Lula Mae Rice, Sr., was born in Manhattan, NY, on July 28, 1958.

Cynthia Joyce Rice was a loving individual who touched many lives. She departed this earthly life on March 20th, 2025. Before her passing, Cynthia was employed at IAC, where she was a valued member of the team. She was also a faithful member of Hardy Chapel Baptist Church in Spartanburg, South Carolina; she served with dedication as an usher and on the missionary board. Her commitment to both her work and her faith was a testament to her strong character and sense of community.

Beyond her professional and spiritual endeavors, Cynthia was an avid supporter of the Dallas Cowboys. Her passion for the team was infectious, igniting excitement in everyone around her. She leaves behind loving memories cherished by her family, including her son, Victor (Cassundra) Rice of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Erecka (Brandon) Robinson of Anderson, South Carolina; Ditoria (Robin) Landrum, and Johnnetta (Paul) Knuckles, both of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one brother, Kenneth Clark of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her godson, Devonte Smith of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her aunt, Carolyn Rice of Fayetteville, North Carolina; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Cynthia also raised Pamela Clark with love and care as her own, making her a cherished part of the family.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Keyundra Rice; her grandson, Keshon Robinson; and five siblings, Diane Wood, Thomas Rice, Thorton Rice, Douglas Rice, and L.C. Rice Jr.

Cynthia will be remembered for her kindness, her unwavering support for her loved ones, and the joy she brought to every room she entered. She touched the hearts of many, and her legacy will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at The John Stinson Woodward Memorial Chapel, 602 Howard St., Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC.
