Mr. Alonzo Irvin Giles, Sr. Passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025 at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem, NC.
Alonzo was born December 3, 1957 to the union of the late Booker Thomas and late Elizabeth Conrad Giles. He attended Henry County public schools. He earned his high school diploma from Laurel Park High School in 1976. He was a laborer for most of his life until his health began to decline. Fishing and working on cars were his passions. If you needed a car worked on, you just called Dog.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his oldest son Alonzo Giles, Jr., long time partner Hazel Martin, sister Gertrude Giles, and brothers Lee Giles, Booker S. Giles, James Giles, Charles Giles, Lewis Giles, Kenneth Meadows, Floyd Giles, and Harold Giles.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his son Kamotia Giles (Wendy), his daughter Cierra Blackwell (Anthony), his sister Dorethia Jamison, his grandchildren Jade, Ja'Najah, Kamiyah, Kamari, Thiana, Kamani, Kaydence, Kween, Kammie, and Kam'ron, great-grandchildren Jay'Ce and Isla, his second mother Mazie Murphy, special friends Anthony Murphy, Danny Murphy, Christopher Murphy, and Rodger King, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends that held a special place in his heart.
