Mrs. Vivian O. Gordon

12/18/1953 - 02/18/2025

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is a laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love is appearing.” 2 Timothy 4: 7-8

Vivian O. Gordon was born on December 18, 1953, in Hampton County, South Carolina, to the late Catherine Orr.

She sought God’s direction at an early age, and joined Ebenezer Holy Church.

Vivian attended the public schools of Hampton County and was a graduate of the class of 1971 at Estill High School. After graduation, she furthered her education at South Carolina State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

She was employed with the State of South Carolina as a Financial Consultant.

During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Her departure on Tuesday morning, February 18, 2025, has left a tremendous void in the lives of her family: Loving and devoted husband: Jerry James Gordon, of the home; (6) Step – Children: Timothy Gordon, Jerry Gordon, Jr.(Billie), Eric Gordon (Annie), Erica Gordon, Mergeron Jones, and June Jones; (10) Grandchildren; (3) Brothers: Clayton Colvin Sr.; Rev. Glenn Orr (Deborah), and Benjamin Orr (Vera); (1) Sister: Dr. Lillie Rose (David) Walker; (2) Sisters – In – Law: Annette Gordon and Pamela Gordon; (3) Brothers – In – Law: John Gordon (Charlotte), Edward Gordon (Daisy), and Carol Gordon; (3) Devoted Nephews: Clayton Clovin, Jr., Justin Colvin, and Larnell White. A host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and sympathizing friends.

My Last Request

Please don’t say that I gave up; I just gave in. Don’t say I lost the battle, for it was God’s war to lose or win. Please don’t say how good I was, but that I did my best. Just say, I tried to do what's right, to give the most I could, not less. I want no more than I deserve, no extras, just my due.

“A SERVICE ABOVE SELF”

Please remember to keep the Gordon family lifted in prayer.
