Faye Johnson

Passed 02/11/2025

Faye Johnson was born to Irvin and Renell Johnson on May 7, 1954 in Valdosta, Georgia. She was raised with eleven siblings, which made for a lively childhood! When asked about her relationship with her parents, she said she had tender affection for both but spent more quality time with her father. She often listened to his pearls of wisdom while growing up and try to apply them. One of his many useful tidbits was to prioritize education. Faye followed his advice and graduated from Lowndes High School in 1972. After graduation, she used her intellect to work for the State of Florida for over thirty years and start multiple business ventures.

After moving to Orlando, Florida, she raised her three children, forming a close-knit family. She would also spoil her two grandchildren, and support her great-grandchildren. When not taking care of her family, Faye loved talking on the phone-a hallmark trait of all the Johnson siblings-and spending time nurturing her home and yard. While Faye may have appeared stoic and private on the surface, she was warm, kind, and loyal when she revealed her layers.

Faye was also spiritual, serving as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was introduced to the faith when a sister came to her door while in the door-to-door ministry. Faye was impressed when the sister was able to answer questions that had, for Faye, previously gone unanswered. She started a Bible study shortly after and progressed to baptism around 1985. She shared her deep-rooted love for Jehovah with her children and grandchildren, impressing upon them the importance of maintaining a relationship with Jehovah. She would often say: "Have faith and trust in Jehovah, and he will never steer you wrong." Faye believed Jehovah cared for her as His daughter until the day she fell asleep. May Jehovah keep Faye in His memory until He wakes her from her indefinite slumber.

Faye was preceded in death by her son, Antony Drake Jones; five sisters, Bernice, Jeanette, and Susan Johnson, RoseMerry Graham, and Patricia Day; four brothers, Charles, Victor Maurice, and Wallace Johnson, and Irvin Johnson Jr.; mother, Renell Baker Johnson; and father, Irvin Johnson Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Keisha Jones-Riley and Melanie Jones-Munford; her sons-in-law Tim Riley and Christopher Munford; her sister, Shirley Jean Reed; her brothers Larry and Michael Johnson; her grandchildren Cory Perry and Hannah Munford; and a host of great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
