Dorothy Mae Linder transitioned peacefully on February 10th 2025 at the age of 93. She was a cherished member of our family, and her love, wisdom, and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her:
Dorothy Mae Linder was born August 9, 1931 in Fargo Georgia. She was the second child of John Henry Brown and Mary Moore. She spent her life creating a legacy of kindness, compassion, and strength. She was a faithful member of Fodie Church of God In Unity where she served as deaconess. She received her education in Boston GA and Lake City FL. In March of 1950 Dorothy Mae Married Lessie H Linder. Their 38 years of marriage provided a home and a loving environment to their 3 boys. She worked for Levi Strauss for 25 years as a seamstress until she retired in 1991.
Mrs. Linder was preceded in death by her sister Mae Frances Denson, and brother Robert Brown, two grandchildren and a great grandchild.
Affectionately known as "Granny", Mrs. Linder raised her grand-daughter Nichole Linder, great grand-daughter Deamber Linder, and great grandson Devione Linder.
She is survived by her three sons, Lessie H. Linder, Jr.

Calvin Linder (Ethel) Saginaw, MI, Herbert Linder, Valdosta, GA.
She also leaves her memories to 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews and a very special niece, Kimberly Linder. She also leaves plenty of other relatives and friends to cherish her memories. She filled our lives with love, laughter, and guidance. Her unwavering support and gentle spirit touched the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to be in her presence.
"Aunt Dot" had a profound love for her family. She was known for her delicious home-cooked meals, her endless stories that spanned generations, and her ability to make everyone feel special and loved. She cherished every moment with her family, leaving a lasting impact on us with her patience, encouragement, and unconditional love.
Funeral services will be Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:30PM at The Church of God in Unity in Quitman, Georgia. Burial follows at North End Cemetery in Quitman. Livestream will be on this website as well as our Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Facebook page. Visitation will be Saturday at the Stevens-McGhee chapel from 2PM-6PM.
