Richard Garhart Staudt Sr. was a son, brother, father, grandfather, and a man whose strength and resilience inspired all who knew him. He lived a life full of adventure, hard work, and love.

He leaves behind a legacy of adventure, laughter, and perseverance that touched all who knew him. A seasoned traveler, Richard spent over 35 years in the trucking industry as a long-haul driver proudly carrying a cdl with Hazardous material classification, navigating roads across the country and beyond. He proudly spoke of his trips from the East Coast to the West Coast, down the southern border, through Canada, and all the way to Alaska. His love for the open road was undeniable, and he has now embarked on his final journey down the Highway to Heaven.

In his younger years, Richard was a jokester with a no-nonsense attitude, always a go-getter and a man of action. He had a way of making people laugh while getting things done. However, in the later years of his life, Richard faced the challenge of serious health issues, including a courageous battle with cancer. He defied the odds and outlived the doctors' predictions, emerging as a survivor and a true warrior.

At the time of his passing, Richard was surrounded by his loving family: his daughter Christina Staudt-LaBelle, granddaughter Bryanna LaBelle, grandsons Dylan Staudt and Jesse LaBelle, and the rest of the household who provided care and love throughout his illness.

Richard is survived by his mother, Jeannie Elliott Hampton of Romney, West Virginia; father, Quinten Franklin Staudt; daughter Christina Marie Staudt-LaBelle of Richmond, VA; son Richard G. Staudt Jr. of Plymouth, Maine; grandchildren Bryanna LaBelle, Regan, Afton, Carmella, and Blakely Staudt; Dylan Staudt and Jesse LaBelle.

He is also survived by his sisters, Michelle Loughran of Romney, WV, and Angela VanDyke of Norfolk, VA, along with their children: Heather, Lydia, Richard, Torri, Andrew, and Jacklyn, and their families. Additionally, he is survived by his youngest daughter Kasendra Olympia Staudt of Texas, and her two sons.

Preceded in death by his ex-wife, Lily Hile, mother of his children Richard Jr. and Christina; his brother, Mark Elliot Staudt; and his grandparents.

Richard will be remembered for his unshakable spirit, his unwavering love for his family, and his legendary sense of humor. He has truly left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him. May he rest in peace, forever traveling the roads of Heaven.
