Juanita Horton, daughter of the late William Adams and Pattie Mitchell Adams, was born on September 3, 1954, in Raleigh, North Carolina. She entered into eternal peace on February 4, 2025, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Juanita attended Wake County Public Schools and furthered her education at Wake Technical Community College where she studied nursing. She was employed at Dorthea Dix Hospital as a nurse in Raleigh, NC and later employed at Lufkin Plant in Apex, NC.

Juanita cherished spending time with her family and filled her heart with such love compassion for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader, she loved poems, she loved her plants, she loved people and most of all, she loved the Lord. Her smile and laugh illuminated the room.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband, Thaddeus Horton Jr; sister Mary Underwood; and brother James Mitchell, Sr.

Juanita leaves to cherish her memories; 2 children, Kimberly Adams of Apex, NC and Kelvin Horton of Apex, NC; 12 grandchildren Brittney Adams, Alexis Adams, Kayla Adams, Antonio Adams, Bryan Adams, D'Andre Adams, Patrick Adams, Kalik Adams, Christian Adams, Kamari Horton, Kaleb Horton, and Kameron Horton; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Juanita also leaves to cherish her memories; 10 siblings, Amos Adams (Janet) of Cary, NC, Claudette Rogers (Willis) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Bettye Adams (Willis) of Angier, NC, Michael Adams of Apex, NC, Thomas Adams of Cary, NC, Richard Adams of Raleigh, NC, Cheryl Hodge (William) of Mebane, NC, Mark Adams of Fayetteville, NC, Larry Adams of Angier, NC, Phillip Adams of Raleigh, NC and a host of nieces, nephew, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. Juanita also leaves to cherish a dear cousin Patricia Bristow on Newport News, VA, a very special friend Joycelyn “Sugar” Greene, of Apex, NC and numerous loved ones and friends.
