Missionary Malinda Lwe, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Greenhaven Health & Rehab Center, Greensboro, North Carolina.
Born March 7, 1936 to the late John V. and Sophonia Hopper, Malinda aka “Lindy” grew up and was ediucated in the Rockingham County educational system. She met and married the love of her life; Carl Louis Lowe, Sr. aka “Joe Louis” and together they raised a family in the Hayes Chapel Community.
Malinda came to Christ early in her life and later joined New Light refuge Temple Church while rearing her family. She exemplified a spirit of hospitality. As part of her faith, she provided for the needs of others, whether the need was physical, emotional or spiritual. She was a stay-at-home mom until her youngest went to school. At that point, she was a domestic assistant to a woman who was physically disabled and when that assignment was over, she found employment at Stoneville Furniture Co. where she retired. After retirement, she continued working in the community where she was lovingly referred to as “the taxi”.
Missionary Malinda was a devoted member of New Light Refuge Temple where she sang in the choirs and served where and when needed. She was known for her pound cakes for church functions.
Malinda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Carl “Joe Louis”; Sisters - Mary Ann Galloway, Margaret Elaine Roberts; Brother-John T. Hopper; Son-Raymond Travis Lowe and Son-in-law, Phillip Agerston.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Children: Carl “Larry” Lowe, Jr., (D.A); Min. Robin Terry-Armstrong; Phyllis Agerston; David Lee Lowe (Talanna); Charlotte Fields (Charles); 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 brothers-in-law, Sam Lowe (Hester); Deacon Frank Neal; 2 sisters-in-law, Missionary Lois Glenn; Dorothy “Sister” Lowe and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
