Memorial service is 1:00 PM, Friday, January 31, 2025 at Oscar's Memorial Chapel, 1700 Oscar Drive, New Bern. Interment is Monday, February 3, 2025 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Jacksonville, NC.

He is survived by his daughters, Heidi Simmons and Holly Simmons of Texas; four brothers, Kermath Simmons, Delaware, Gary Simmons, Pollocksville, NC, Vernon Simmons, Pittsburg, PA, Jeffrey Simmons, Takoma, WA; one sister, Juliet S. Morgan, Pollocksville, NC and three grandchildren.
