Rose Cook, 84, passed on Saturday, January 11, 2025 in Phenix City, AL.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Friday, January 17, 2025 at Greater Mt. Zion located at 201 S Seale Rd, Phenix City, AL with Noble D. Williams, pastor, officiating. Burial to follow in Lakeview Memory Gardens located at 3800 US-431, Phenix City, AL. Public viewing is 12:00-5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Mrs. Rose Allen Cook was the ninth child born January 15, 1940 to the union of the late John and Lola Allen.
Rose was educated in the Phenix City school system. Although she was a woman with very little education, she was spiritually inclined and filled with wisdom.
At an early age, Rose accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. At this time, she was baptized under the pastorage of Reverend J.C. Cook. She attended Greater Mt. Zion Baptist Church faithfully until her health started to declined.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Jackson Cook Sr., along with eight siblings.
She is survived by her devoted children: Aubrey (Raemona) Allen of Midland, Ga; Lillian (Clarence) Hunter of Ft. Mitchell, Al; Micheal (Deborah) Chambers or Auburn, Al; Micheal Cook and Diane Porter both of Tampa FL and Faye Thomas of Columbus, Ga; and a bonus child, Jeff Summberlin of Ladonia, Al.,seven grandchildren, Willie (Tamika) Deloney, Lolita (Carl) McClendon, Clarence (Shatoya) Hunter, Jeruel Hunter, Micheal (Dorothy) Chambers, Aubrey (Elise) Chambers, Shantavia (Enrique) Crowell; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Mildred Allen of Phenix City and Betty Alexander of Milwaukee, WI. A brother-in-law, Johnnie Cook and one sister-in-law, Alma Cook and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
