Apostle Murrin Wright

Apostle Murrin Wright was born May 20,1946 to the parentage of late Henderson and Rossie Lee Wright in Greensboro, Georgia. He was the third of nine children. He attended the Greene County School system and during his early years worked in the family’s logging business alongside his father and brothers.

He married the late Pastor Lonnie Mae Wright and from this union they had eight children. Pastor Lonnie Mae Wright passed away in 1994. He later married his wife, Prophetess Elaine Harden Wright, who stole his heart and from this union, he gained a daughter. Apostle Wright was an extraordinary father and husband and humble man of God who love his family beyond measure.

He accepted Christ and was baptized at Antioch Baptist Church, Greensboro, GA where he later served as a deacon. He answered God’s call in 1982 and was ordained to the Gospel ministry. In 1982 he founded Christ City of Faith Ministries where he exemplified the love of Christ with a sincere dedication to saving souls. He was a mentor and father figure to many as well as a role model and Christian leader. He was a man of prayer, faith and vision who loved God’s people genuinely and served diligently.

Apostle Wright had a passion for helping others and was an amazing example of God’s love. He was a man of compassion and made sure everyone in his presence felt special. He loved to laugh and was a joy to be around.

Apostle Murrin Wright was preceded in death by his mother and father, Henderson and Rossie Lee Wright; his brothers: Herman Wright, Leon Myles Wright and Douglas MacArthur Wright; his daughter, Rosalyn Rebecca Wright, his mothers-in-law: Mother Ella Mae Harden and Mother Lucille Johnson; his fathers-in-law: Mark Harden, II and Lonnie Johnson.

It is an incredible honor to ensure that his legacy will live on for generations. He left his family with the instructions to celebrate his memory. Leading the charge is his devoted wife of 29 years, Prophetess Elaine Wright; his children: Dwayne Wright, Sean Wright, Stacy Wright, Ronald (Chanda) Wright, Keith Wright, Anitra (Kendall) Douglas, Brian Wright, Sheena McMillan; his forty-three grandchildren; his eleven great grandchildren; his sisters: Gayron (William) Johnson, Sharon (Louis) Brown; his brothers: Leonard (Eva Pearl) Wright, Harry (Marilyn) Wright, Donnie (Wanda) Wright; nine sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, lifelong friends and church family.

Our hearts are saddened at his passing, but we are rejoicing because we know that he has received his crown of righteousness for his many years of devoted service as Pastor and Shephard.


Funeral service for Apostle Wright will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025 from the First Methodist Church 4741 Carey Station Rd. Greensboro, GA at 2pm.
