William D. Broadnax, 76 of Eden, NC passed Friday, January 10, 2025. The family will receive friends, Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home Chapel, 511 Henry Street, Eden, NC with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 p.m.
William Douglas (Doug) Broadnax was born March 01, 1948, to the late Charlie Woodrow Broadnax, Sr., and the late Pattie Lee Settle Broadnax in Rockingham County.
His hobbies were hunting and fishing, just for fun and in tournaments. He often won both trophies and cash. He loved gardening, spending time with friends and family and cooking, especially at family gatherings. Frying fish was one of his specialties. He worked at Fieldcrest Mills of Mebane, Smith Cattleguard of Madison, Johnston Nursery of Reidsville and Harvey Farming of Eden until he could no longer do so. He is truly loved and will be missed.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers; Charlie Woodrow Broadnax, Jr., (Mary), George Henry (Buck) Broadnax and daughter; Keisha B. Saunders.
Doug leaves behind his beloved wife, Julie D. Broadnax to cherish his memories, also his sister: Bettie Gant (Walter). Children: William (Shavers) Broadnax of Eden, NC Lisa Peregrine (Mark) of Randleman, NC, Michelle Broadnax of Eden, NC, James (Bookie) Doggett (Dawn) of Reidsville, NC, Robert Doggett (Tiah) of Atlanta, GA, Gregory Bray of Rockingham County, Mother-in-law; Carolyn S. Welch. Blended family: Gregory Welch of Reidsville, NC, Melvin Welch of Stoneville, NC, Arielle Dominguez of Raleigh, NC, Isabelle Dominguez of Eden, NC, 17 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins. Leo Mendez (Lisha) close friend, best man at his wedding and fishing partner.
