Eleanor Doretha Kenney, 98, of Henrico, entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 3, 2025.

She graduated from Virginia Union Union University, then taught school in Colonia Beach, Virginia and Hanover County before retiring.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, James Mason Fleming and Eleanora Winston Fleming; son, Melvin T. Kenney, Sr.; sister, Kate F. Starke and brothers, Curtis and James Fleming.

Left to cherish her memories are two grandchildren, Melvin T. Kenney Jr. and Sharon Kenney; four great grandchildren, Shawn Wilson, Christopher Bent, Marquis and Nichelle Kenney; one great great grandson, Isaac Wilson; devoted caregiver, Gladys P. Kenney; a host of other relatives and friends.

Remains rest at Scott's Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Park Blvd. Per Mrs. Kenney's request, there will be no viewing and no service. Interment private.
