Mr. Raphael R. Baker was born into this world on September 13, 1961 in Tampa, Florida. On Saturday, December 14, 2024, Raphael made his transition from this world at the Charlie Norwood Veterans Hospital - Augusta, Georgia. He is the son of Ella Eugenia Bradshaw Baker and the late Richard F. Baker.

Raphael received most of his early education in Hanau Germany and Fort. Hood Texas. He completed his education in Tampa, Florida from Tampa Bay Technical High School in 1979.

After high school, he attended Albany State College, played on the football team, and was initiated into Alpha Phi Omega(APO). After moving to Augusta, Raphael served in the Military (Army) with the 382nd Field Hospital Unit from Augusta, Ga. He also worked at SRS (Wackenhut) for almost 30 years. He was a member of New Era Lodge #107, Hiram Chapter #15 HRAM, Oscar C. McCombs Commandery #21 KT, and Stoklin Temple #22 A.E.A.O.N.M.S.

Raphael found joy working outside in his yard, fishing, hunting, golfing and being with family and friends before his health declined. Raphael (Ralph) was an avid reader, he loved trivia, music of all genres and debating others. He was also a loyal fan of the Dallas Cowboys!

Raphael was preceded in his death by his father Richard F. Baker and son Raphael R. Baker Jr. Left to mourn his passing and his wonderful memories is his Wife of 40+ years, Dr. Ella Wynette Rucker Baker of Hephzibah, Georgia.

Daughters: Angela Alexis Noble(Mario) of Augusta,Georgia. Ella Eugenia (Genie) Augerbright (Theodore) of Martinez, Georgia. Ra’Chael Baker of Hephzibah, Georgia and Son: Ryan Bolton of Augusta,Georgia. Grandchildren: Jyntaivia Baxter, Alyssa Burkes, Nile Augerbright, Ellington Augerbright, Mariah Noble and Nova Augerbright. Mother: Ella Eugenia Bradshaw Baker of Tampa, Florida. Brother: Darrall Williams of Tampa,Florida. Aunt: Barbara Hughes of NY.

Brother in Laws: David Bush of Valdosta, Georgia and Silas Clark Jr. (Gwynette) of Chesapeake, Virginia. A host of close family and friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Special thanks to the staff at the Downtown VA CCU, Doctors Hospital ICU, Select Specialty Hospital, Lenus in Home Care, and Fresenius Kidney Care Hephzibah. A special thanks to the Jenkins Church Family, United States Military, and family and friends (BROTHERS).

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Jenkins Memorial C.M.E. Church, 4218 Windsor Springs Road, Hephzibah, Georgia.
