Mrs. Bernadette Lanette Raines Morgan was born on November 22, l975, to the late Ms. Emily Drake and the late Mr. Fred Raines, Jr. in Thomaston, Upson County, Georgia. At and early age, she joined the Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Bernadette, more affectionately known as “Pig,” was educated in the public schools of Thomaston and attended R.E. Lee High School. In school, she met friends that lasted her lifetime. She was the mother of three children. To support her children, she was employed by Thomaston Mills as a custodian in her early years. She also worked at Rose’s and Church’s Chicken.

She met Mr. Anthony Noel Morgan and they were joined in Holy Matrimony in 2010. They shared 12 years together before his death in 2022.

Bernadette had a good heart for other people. She was a bellringer for the Salvation Army for many years. She enjoyed doing volunteer work, helping others in her neighborhood, visiting the nursing home and taking care of the seniors.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one sister, Earnestine Bentley. On Monday, December 16, 2024, her spirit took flight and returned home. Her departure has saddened the hearts of her family and friends but her memory will live on.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children: Mr. Keith Alsobrooks, Jr. of Thomaston, GA, Ms. Ke’Undra Raines of Forest Park, GA and Mr. Jonterius Raines of Thomaston, GA; two grandchildren: Khylan Alsobrooks and Icelyn Parks both of Thomaston, GA; two sisters: Mrs. Trudy Walker of Thomaston, GA and Ms. Geraldine (Emanuel) Ivey of Roberta, GA; two brothers: Mr. Kenneth Raines and Mr. Ricky Raines both of Thomaston, GA; two aunts: Mrs. Ann Campbell and Mrs. Patricia Drake both of Thomaston, GA; two uncles: Mr. Jimmy Raines of Griffin, GA and Mr. Walker Drake of AK; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
