The world became a little dimmer, as Jerilyn Denine Robinson, 60, transitioned on the evening of December 9th, 2024, at Piedmont Hospital after a long bout of illness.

Jerilyn was born on September 18, 1964, in Brooklyn, NY, to Deborah Roundtree (Robinson) and John Robinson. Affectionately known as Jax or Jeri, she was a woman of many talents, a true jill of all trades. She worked as a pet groomer, armed security officer, and in customer service, among many other roles. In 1996, Jerilyn relocated to Georgia to be closer to her children and quickly became known as the "neighborhood mom" to all who entered her home. Her radiant smile and infectious warmth brightened every room she entered.

Jerilyn had a deep love for animals, and she inspired those around her with her unyielding sense of hope. Bold and vibrant, she was always willing to give of herself to anyone in need. Above all, she was a devoted mother, Nonny (what her grandchildren called her), and friend. Over the years, she welcomed many into her life, earning the endearing title of "Momma Jax." She also showed great compassion for the LGBTQ+ community and was an advocate for various causes, offering her time as a volunteer before falling ill.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Deborah Robinson; her sister, Dionne Robinson; her brother, Darren Robinson; and her husband, Dennis Shaw.

Jerilyn leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: Justin Robinson and Dontay Hays; daughters: Melisha Smith (Clifton Smith), My-Ia Robinson (Tony Dixon), and Talisa Robinson; as well as twelve grandchildren. Additionally, by many honorary family members, cousins, friends, aunts, and an uncle.

A memorial service celebrating Jerilyn's life will be held on December 21st, 2024, at Kinsey and Walton at 2 P.M.

Jerilyn's legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
