Parys Nicole “Akanke Nicole” Lipscomb

Funeral service for Parys Lipscomb, 29, of Opelika, Alabama, will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Galilee Baptist Church, 2259 County Road 290, Opelika, Alabama, 36801, Reverend Rodney Jones will officiate.

Ms. Lipscomb, who passed away Friday, November 29, 2024 at Piedmont Regional Midtown in Columbus, Georgia, was born April 20, 1995, in Lee County, Alabama.

Akanke Nicole was a shining light from her earliest days. In 2013, she graduated with honors from Lanett High School, a testament to her intelligence and dedication. She carried these traits into every aspect of her life, including her work and her spiritual community. At an early age she confessed Christ and joined Galilee Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama, she embodied the values of faith, service, and compassion.

Public viewing will be Friday, December 13, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Ms. Lipscomb will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

She leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Olyvia Gilder and Chauncey Pitts both of Opelika, AL; mother, Mellissa (Ronnie) Christian of Opelika, AL; two sisters, Portia Black and Keamber “Mia” Chatmon both of Opelika, AL; grandfather, William (Annette) Gunn, Sr. of Opelika, AL; two devoted friends, Renecia “Symone” Martin of Valley, AL and Salena Jackson of Columbus, GA; devoted friend, Anthony Pitts of Opelika, AL; special aunt, Patricia Lipscomb of Douglasville, GA; one niece, Marlee Chatman of Opelika, AL; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
