The funeral services for the late Mrs. Cassie Dean Hamilton Winkfield, who departed this life on Saturday, November, 2, 2024, will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Greater New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia. Minister Atlas Gilbert will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden Cemetery in Sylvester, Georgia. Cassie Dean Hamilton Winkfield, affectionately known as “Bookie” by her family and close friends, was born on October 9, 1949, in Worth County to the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Hamilton, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Morgan Hamilton.

After graduating from Holley High School, Cassie dedicated much of her career to caring for others at Palmyra Nursing Home.

At an early age, Cassie gave her life to Christ and joined Macedonia Baptist Church.

On the afternoon of Saturday, November 2, 2024, Cassie transitioned from her earthly home to her new heavenly home. She is joyfully reunited with her parents, her only child, Bernard Hamilton, grandson, Marcus Summerlin, grandparents, and sister, Brenda Hamilton.

Cassie leaves behind cherished memories with her partner of 20 years, Chris Thomas; her siblings Johnny Hamilton, Jr. (Brenda), Joyce Williams (Hershel), Jacqueline Munford, Florence Nelson (Joe), Cecil Hamilton, Reginald Hamilton (Ruby), Carla Hamilton, and Henry Hamilton; her daughter-in-law, Diane Hamilton; her grandchildren, Demetric Hunt, Erica Summerlin, Vesta Summerlin, and Marvin Summerlin, Jr.; her great-grandchildren, Jireh Sibley, Demetrius Hunt, BarbieAnna Ford, Demetrianna Ford, Demetric Ford, Damel Ford, Keon Mitchell, JaMarion Summerlin, Sariah Ransom, Chase Ransom, Tavena Brown, Ke’Miyah Farley, Raymond Summerlin, Navaeh Summerlin, Marvin Summerlin III, and Syncere Summerlin; her nieces and nephews, Robert Hamilton (Shannon), Debra Hamilton, Krista Jones, Johnny Hamilton Jr., Jeannine Williams, Laticia Murray (Gerald), Ginneski Munford, Terrance Munford (Shanicka), Felisha Gilbert (Atlas), Tammy Thomas, Shameka Hamilton, Michael Joe Nelson (Veronica), Nikkitress Nelson, Kimbolic Hamilton (Carolyn), Temetris Williams, Shanard Hamilton, Shamantae O’Neal (Chris), Shakeatha Butler, and Kandice Hamilton.

As Cassie’s health began to decline, she was blessed to have the unwavering support of her family, who remained by her side until her final moments.
