Thomas “Tommy” Egleston Collins was born March 26, 1947, to the late Pernell Wiseman. Thomas, a beloved father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, friend, and respected member of our community, transitioned on October 25, 2024 at the age of 77. A proud veteran, he served his country with honor and dedication, embodying the values of loyalty and integrity that defined his life.
Known for his kindness and generosity, Thomas was a cherished friend and confidant to all who knew him. He was a gentle, compassionate soul who cared deeply for his family and friends. Whether offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or sharing a warm smile, he was a true source of comfort and joy in our lives. He touched many lives, leaving a legacy of kindness and love that will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Collins; his children, Kyma M. Collins and Milton T. Thomas, Jr.; his brother, Robert Wiseman; his grandchildren, Andrea Watson, Ebony Leake, and Jasmine C. Dortch; his nephew, Craig Collins; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Thomas was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheila Williams and his brother, Neville Collins.
The family will receive friends Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 11:00am- 12:00 noon at RS Lewis & Sons 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111. A Graveside will follow at 1:00pm in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery
Interment will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Rd, Memphis, TN 38125
