Maely Kate Carpenter, age 6 of Trophy Club, TX, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 19th, 2024.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 24th at Milestone Church, 201 Mount Gilead Road, Keller, TX 76248 with Pastor Pat Brown officiating.
Maely Kate was born September 10, 2018 in Plano, TX to Kelly and Melanie (Renfro) Carpenter. Although MK was with us all for such a short time, that didn’t keep her from living life to the fullest. MK was passionate about music, dancing, and gymnastics. She started dancing before she could walk and that passion continued throughout her entire life. As she grew older, that passion turned into daily performances of Taylor Swift in the living room for all who would listen. She loved spending time with her friends and family every chance she could get. Her desire to be around friends and family never ceased even after her diagnosis. She fought cancer bravely for 18 months, inspiring so many with her strength, courage, and relentless positivity. She will be remembered for her compassion for others, her vibrant personality, and the lasting impact her life left on so many, whether she met them or not.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather Milton Renfro.
Maely Kate is survived by her parents Kelly and Melanie Carpenter of Trophy Club, TX; her sister Elliott Carpenter; her Nana, Cynthia Renfro; her Papa and Money, Larry and Terry Carpenter; her aunts and uncles, Matthew and Brooke Ray, Mindi Watson and Erik Robbins, and Matthew Carpenter and Mack Witzel; her cousins Baylie, Camden, Tenley, Whitten, and Taylen; her godfather Tyler Barnett; and her dogs Onyx and Spin.
We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the countless doctors, nurses, and staff for the care provided by Dallas Children’s, University of California San Francisco, Le Bonheur, and Cook Children’s. We are thankful for the support from the countless friends and family that were there for us during her battle with cancer.
