I was born on July 1, 1955 in Albany GA to Arthur and the late Lula Spurlin. I was the mother to one beautiful baby girl, Shevokia Salete. I was married to Kendall Crawford and we continued to make our home in Albany. During my upbringing, I was greatly influenced by my mother, Lula Spurlin, who instilled in me the values of love, loyalty, God and family. During my life, I’ve tried my best to live through these principles and share these traits with everyone I met my mission was to “Never meet a stranger”.
In my formative years, I attended Monroe Comprehensive High School and shortly after started my working career at Bob’s Candy. From there, I transitioned to Miller Brewing Company and completed my working career there after over 20 years of service. At an early age, I accepted Christ and joined Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church where I was an active member. I sang in the choir, served on the hospitality ministry, led the Lula Pearl Scholarship committee and a member of the Deaconess ministry. I enjoyed serving at PHMBC and especially found joy helping wherever I could.
Throughout my life, God has continued to strengthen me. He’s been a constant friend and counselor. I most felt his presence while I battled my heart issues. During each of my four open heart surgeries He never left my side. God made me a fighter. There is no more pain. To my daughter, I’m good and keep your head up. To my grandkids, I love you and I’m never too far away. To my siblings, I’m with Momma, Pop & Junior now!
To God be the Glory!
