Obituary For Jeffery M. Ward

Mr. Jeffrey Maurice Ward was born on April 28, 1992, to the late LaTonya Devaughn Miller and Steve Ward in Greensboro, Georgia. Jeffrey tragically left us on September 14, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia at Grady Memorial Hospital.

Jeffrey attended Greene County High School, where he was a member of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) and maintained the A&B honor roll. Jeffrey was a Georgia Bulldogs fan, he loved to play video games, he loved going fishing as a child and he loved to make others laugh.

Jeffrey was not perfect. He made some mistakes in life, but he had a huge heart. He loved kids and always dreamed of one day being a father. He was a diligent worker and would often work two jobs to avoid trouble and to take care of his household.

Nine years ago, Jeffrey moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he built a heartfelt and everlasting relationship with the Shields family.

In addition to his mother Jeffrey was proceeded in death by his grandfather, Horace Lewis Andrews and grandmother, Mrs. Annie Hall.

Jeffrey leaves to cherish his memory, a father: Steve Ward (Chandrea) of Athens, GA, two loving brothers, Stephon Victor Ward of Greensboro, GA and Treyvon R. Smith of Athens, GA, devoted grandmother, Shirley B. Weaver of Greensboro, GA grandfather, James Henry (Ruth) Thornton of Siloam, GA, nine uncles, Alvin (LaTanji) Ford, Charleston J. Weaver of Greensboro, GA, Cedric (Jennifer) Thornton of Greensboro, GA and Jimmie Lee Thornton of GA, Chris (Jackie) Ward of Monroe, GA, Nicholas Ward of Athens, GA, Jeremy Ward, Brian (Gabriela) and Shannon Allen of Texas, three aunts, Tina Andrews and Santiba Andrews of Greensboro, GA and Taleida (Anthony) of Columbia, SC and a host of cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.
