Mr. Jonathan Maurice Harris, 34, of Louisville, Kentucky departed this life on Monday, September 9, 2024 at his residence in Louisville, Kentucky .
Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the First Kiokee Baptist Church, 121 Kiokee Church Road, Dawson, Georgia.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Jonathan was born November 18, 1989 in St. Petersburg, Florida to his parents Anita Owens and Thomas M. Harris.
At an early age, Jonathan was baptized at Southside Church of Christ in St. Petersburg. He attended school at Pinellas Park High and Dixie Hollins High School. After high school, Jonathan began his career at Wal-Mart where he started as a stocker and moved up to Quality Control. It was then that he discovered his love for security. In 2015, Jonathan moved to Albany, Georgia and became the youngest store manager at Wal-Mart in Southwest Georgia. Jonathan loved traveling and new experiences. He was an ambitious young man. Wherever the next best job was, that is where he went •. Jonathan later transferred his job at Wal-Mart to Louisville, Kentucky. He then went on to be a Correctional Officer with the State of Kentucky. At the time of his passing, he worked Security for Derby City Casino & Gaming.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Ashanta Shanell Roberson and maternal grandparents, Lawrence P. Gilford and Doretha Owens.
He leaves to cherish his memories, step parents, Pernell Robinson and Kimberly Thomas, 2 sisters, Teyana Roberson and LaQuanda Owens (Demetri) of Albany, GA, brother, Pernell Michael Roberson. Other siblings include Jamiya Harris Hicks, of Miami, FL and two brothers, Antwan Dexter and RJ Foster of St. Petersburg, FL. His paternal grandparents, John and Agnes Washington (St Petersburg, FL), his immediate uncle and aunts, Gregory Owens (Albany, GA), Adrian Owens Glasgow (Atlanta, GA), and Katara Johnson-Friend (St Petersburg, FL). Special great aunts, Mrs. Emma Lee and Lynda Faye Davenport. Nephews, Tyshaun Adams, Austin Timmons, Jr. (AJ), and Gideon Roberson. Nieces: Ember Owens Pipkin, Ny’Kira Roberson, and De’ Asia Climes, all of Albany, GA. Special cousins, Veronica Lee and Teresa Ray (Willie).
