Mrs. Rosa L. Thurmond, age 74 of Athens, GA passed September 17, 2024.

Celebration of Life services will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Hill Chapel Baptist Church, 1692 West Hancock Ave, Athens, GA with interment in Evergreen Memorial Park. Viewing, Friday, 2-6 PM at Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home

Survivors include: her husband, James Edward Thurmond; son, James McIntre Thurmond; daughter, Marcy Lavette Thurmond; grandson, Jahmori De'Jon Simmons; granddaughter, Mahogany Simone Simmons; siblings, John Willie (Sara) Walter, Emma Walter, James Edward (Elsa) Walter, Robert Charles (Bernice) Walter, Harry Lee (Teresa) Walter, Larry Lee (Angela) Walter, David L. (Peggy) Walter; cousin/brother, John (Gwen) Howard; sisters in law, Jewel Barnette and Barbara (Wrenford) Archibald; brother in law, Michael L. (Zola) Thurmond.
