George David Huntley, Sr. was born to the late Booker T. Weatherly and Anne Francis Huntley of Durant, MS. They both preceded him in death. He was born September 9,1951, in Durant MS. George transitioned to be with the Lord on September 3, 2024.
George Huntley, Sr. also known as “BoPete" or "Bo” to most of his closest family and friends was married on June the 25, 1977, to Mary Jean Huntley. Born to their union were four strong boys: George (Deirdre) Huntley Jr. of Smithfield, MS; James (Tiffany) Huntley, Ridgeland, MS; Derrick (Cassie) Huntley, Durant, MS; Jeremy (Monica) Huntley, Durant, MS. BoPete was blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren: Decourius Garth, Tamera Garth, Monica Huntley, Derrick V. Huntley, Jamie Huntley, Rosalyn Huntley, Jace Huntley, and Colton Huntley.
BoPete's education included the following: Durant Attendance Center, Durant, MS where he played football and later attended Saints Academy in Lexington, MS. As a young adult, BoPete had the chance to live and work in Lake Charles, LA; Chicago, IL; Gary, IN and many other places as a concrete finisher. Moving back home, BoPete worked over 17 years with Rory Anderson out of Jackson, MS as a concrete finisher. After time passed, Bo decided to work as a private contractor. Bo loved sharing fun and joyful memories and experiences of the full life he lived.
BoPete had one sister and brother to precede him in death: Nora Mae “Mae-Mae” Garrett and John (Shoemaker Huntley.
He leaves to mourn him in death two sisters: Rebecca (Charles) Kurns, of Matterson IL and Carolyn (James) Riley, Durant, MS; 2 sisters-in-law: Wilma Brown and Iris Brown and brother-in-law, George Howard.
Bo also leaves to mourn him a special cousin and best friend, Jesse Lewis II; riding buddy, Craig Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
