Obituary For Tyrone Davis

Mr. Tyrone Foster Davis, age 75 of Spartanburg South Carolina departed this life and transitioned on September 2, 2024. Born on September 19, 1948 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Louise Foster Davis and Jerome Davis Sr.

Tyrone Davis graduated from Carver High School, Class of 1968. Tyrone served as a firefighter from 1974-1990(16 years), he was a hero. Tyrone was a veteran that served in the US Army (Germany) from 1969-1971, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Tyrone was a talented long time, Master Barber; he started that journey at just 12 years old. Tyrone was a member of the King Solomon Lodge No. 112 and the Scottish Rite.

Tyrone is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife; Mrs. Lottie Hunter Davis, his children; 2 sons and 4 daughters, Tyrone Machen Davis (Ebony), Tyrone Hunter Davis, Tyrrhonda Lakaya Davis, Moneka Robinson, Ne’Miah Miller all of Spartanburg and April Robinson of Petersburg, Florida; he has 10 grandchildren Alyssa Davis, Logan Davis, Gabriella Davis, Winter Davis, Rysean Hunter (Kyla), Dion Hunter (Ryesha), Daeshawn Hunter, Camreon Barner, Aubrey Cunningham and Rodney Lamont Smith. Tyrone is also survived by 2 brothers Jerome Davis (Patty) Spartanburg and Milton Chase of Delaware. 3 Sister-in-laws Mrs. Gladys Hill, Mrs. Connie Hardy (Lennox), and Ms. Rosa Hunter all of Spartanburg. 1 brother-in-law George Hunter (Theresa). Tyrone also leaves behind a host of beautiful great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Tyrone was preceded in death by 1 daughter Amber Michelle Davis. 5 siblings; William Earl Bobo, Jack Holloway, Mary Louise Holloway, Willie Holloway, and Frank Holloway. 2 nieces and 1 nephew Bescina Hunter, Fifi Irvette Davis Simmons, and Wendell Holloway. 2 sister in laws JoEmily Hunter Jeter and Juanita Hunter Sawyer.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Spartanburg, SC. Burial will be in the Heritage Memorial Gardens, Roebuck, SC.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm at The John Stinson Woodward Funeral Home, Spartanburg, SC.
