Obituary For Ruth Hazel Wade

(April 28, 1937 — August 27, 2024 )

TYLER---Celebration of life of Mrs. Ruth Wade, 87, is schedule for 12 pm, Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Dr. Rufus Pollard, eulogist. Burial will be in St. Violet Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Company.

Mrs. Wade was born on April 28, 1937 in Tyler, Smith County, Texas to the late Essie Downs and Evie Ates. She transitioned on August 27, 2024 in Desoto, Texas.

She was a graduate of Dixie High School and a member of the Class of 1956.

Mrs. Wade was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mission Department. She retired as a medication aide, retired as a traveling care giver and later retired as a bus monitor from TISD.

Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, two sons, three brothers, two sisters and three grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter: Katrina Wade-Pettigrew (Larry) of Desoto, Texas; three sons: Darrell Wade Sr., Darvin Wade Sr., and Mark Wade Sr. (Lawanda) all of Tyler; one sister: Lasandra Williams of Duncanville, Texas; twenty eight grandchildren, host of great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be on Friday, September 6, 2024 from 2 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.
