Obituary For Jessie Ann King

Jessie Ann King, 85 of Madison, NC passed Thursday August 29, 2024. Public viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday September 3, 2024, at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at The Refuge Church, 213 S. 2nd Avenue, Mayodan, NC. with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Pine Hall Baptist Church Cemetery, Pine Halll, NC.

Jessie Ann Mitchell King, a beloved matriarch, peacefully transitioned on August 29, 2024 at her home. Jess Ann Mitchell King, affectionately known as “Jessie Ann" daughter of the late William Lee Mitchell and Jessie Geneva Searcy was born in Stokes County on August 2, 1939. Shie lived a life filled with love, laughter and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Jessie Ann attended Stokes County schools and was the Church Mother of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Madison, NC under the leadership of Pastor James W. King, Jr. She worshipped under Christian faith serving and glorifying Jesus Christ at a very tender age, setting an example for her children. She cherished time with family and friends, our beloved bequeathed to us a living legacy which time cannot and will not erase. Her life was and will always be an example of love,devotion, faithful service with an unshakeable desire to serve the Lord. She was the epitome of strength and grace, navigating life's ups and downs with resilence and determination. She was blessed with five sons and four daughters, whom she raised with unconditional love and unwavering support.

Jessie's legacy extended beyond her immediate family to her 34 cherished grandchildren, whom she adored beyond measure. She took great pleasure in showering them with affection and imparting her wisdom upon them,leaving an inerasable mark on each of their lives. She will be fondly remembered for her infiections laughter, her compassionate heart and her selfless spirit. She had a knack for bringing people together and making everyone feel loved and valued. In her free time, “Mamma, Grandma, Aunt Jessie, Jessie Ann or Mrs. Jessie or simply Jessie” as some called her loved to listen to gospel music, painting and shopping. Sheloved telling stories from her yestery ears to her family and friends. She had a passion for life and approached each day with a sense of gratitude and optimism.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her kids, grandchildren, nieces and nephews' and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a true “LILY IN THE VALLEY” that will be deeply missed. Though she may be gone from our sight, her love will continue to guide us and bring us comfort in the days ahead. Her legacy will serve as a beacon of hope, love and encouragement to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents: William Lee and jessie Geneva Mitchell. Two grandchildren; Tiffany and Stephanie Redd. Three brothers: George Mitchell, Herny Mtchell and Walter Mitchell, three sisters; Cynthia Gail Moore, Margretha Carter and Teresa Jacqueline Mitchell.

Her devoted as the family matriarch will continue to bless those that she leaves to cherish her memories: daughters; Evanglist Annette Redd of Walnut Cove, Jeanette King Fields of Madison, NC, JoAnn Marin of Reidsville, NC, Michelle Clodfelter (Donnie) of Eden, NC. Sons: Elder James William King, Jr. (Myra) of Madison, NC, Elder Naniel Walter King (Gail) of Reidsville, NC, Bonnie King of Eden, NC, Jerry Wayne King of Madison, NC and Billy King (Pamela) of Reidsville, NC, 34 grandchildren, two generation of over 105 great grandkids. One child of the heart: Howard Smith of Stokesdale, NC, two sisters; Katie Simmons and Betty Dalton of Madison, NC. One brother-in-law; Nate Carter. Special friend, Cynthia Hayes, a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and a multitude of treeasured friends.
