Sheila Nell Kern-Smith was born to Willie and Virginia Kern on December 2, 1963; God took her into his bosom on August 28, 2024.
She received her childhood education through Kosciusko Unified School System. Later receiving her cosmetology license from Brock Barber College. She continued to further her education at Holmes Community College receiving her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education.
She dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and became a member of Christian Liberty M.B. Church, where she was an active and faithful member until God called her home.
She leaves to cherish her memories to one daughter: Renee Louise Smith, Milwaukee, WI; two sons: Quinton Cortez Smith of Kosciusko, MS, Johnny Cornez (Natasha) Cotton, Jr. of Memphis, TN. She also leaves six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father and her oldest son Terrell Dominique Smith.
She leaves her mother: Virginia Kern; five brothers: John Gloria Triplett of Atlanta, GA, Willie Edward (Wilma) Kern, Sr. of Chicago, IL, Alvin Earl (Dionne) Kern of Millington, TN, Jerry Ray “Tracy” (Annette) Kern, Sr., Bobby Gonzalez (Annette) Kern both of Kosciusko, MS; five sisters: Billie Joyce Bruce of Muskegon, MI; Jeanette De Louch of California, Tennie Mary White of Maryland, Sarah Virginia (Vincent) Kern-Wilson of ElCajun, CA and Carolyn Mallett of Milwaukee, WI and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many other friends and relatives.

Perhaps you sent a lovely card or sat quietly in a chair. Perhaps you sent those beautiful flowers, that we saw sitting there. Perhaps you spoke the kindest words, as any friend could say. Perhaps you were not there at all, just thought of us that day. Whatever you did to console our hearts we thank you so much for whatever part. We deeply appreciate your kind expression of sympathy in our time of great sorrow. Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers. Special Thanks to Pastor Marvin K.
