Obituary For Stanley Leo Hope

The funeral services for the late Mr. Stanley Leo Hope, who departed this life on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Pruitt Healthcare Palmyra in Albany, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from the Shipp's Funeral Home Chapel in Sylvester, Georgia. Overseer Otis Robinson, Sr. will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Shepard Memorial Garden in Sylvester, Georgia. Mr. Stanley Leo Hope was born on May 11, 1961 in Sylvester, Georgia, to the late Mrs. Mattie Ellen Thomas Smith.

Stanley was educated in the Worth County Public School System. Early in his adult life, he worked at Coats & Clark in Albany, Georgia and later in his life he was self-employed as a Handyman until his health declined.

At an early age, Stanley gave his life to Christ and joined the Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Sylvester, Georgia.

On Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Pruitt Healthcare Palmyra in Albany, Georgia, Stanley heard God’s voice, and moved from Labor to Reward. His mother, Mattie Ellen Thomas Smith, his stepfather, John Lewis Smith, and brothers, Gary Lewis Smith, Leroy Hope, all have preceded him in death.

Stanley leaves to cherish his memories five sisters, Clovis Dianne Gardner, Lynn Hall (Coy Marshall), Denise Hope, Charlotte Evette Hope, and Vontresia Hope; four brothers, Leon (Delma) Hope, Christopher Hope, Keith (Kanene) Smith, Tony Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
