Rev. Elliott was a family friend, church member and neighbor for a while. He was definitely a godly man,a family man and a hard working man. I admired how dedicated he was to his mother. He always was able to persevere and do a lot with only a little. That perseverance showed his character. He never gave up and never asked anyone for anything. He relied on God. The struggle is over now, RIP. QD John and Sharon Clarke

Rev. Elliott was a joy to all who came in contact with him. He loved Mississippi, loved his family, loved hymns, and loved God's word. I don't think he ever met a stranger. If he did, they weren't strangers for long. He was fiercely independent and extremely caring. He will be missed by many throughout the Tri City and Mississippi. Praying strength to the Elliott family, Angela Jackson

I can remember my first friendly encounter with Mr. Elliott, as he introduced himself, and received a history lesson of Columbus, Georgia. He shared, with me, the occurrence of a flood that spilled over from the Chattahoochee River to Broad Street (Downtown). Because I love history and positive mentoring, I gained a high level of respect for Mr. Elliott. At the end of our conversation, he invited me into his life. I will always remember that moment in time. Now, it is time for a peaceful rest. You left a legacy that I hear through your grandson and namesake, Elbert "Ice" Elliott, Jr.
