Ms. Briana Jelks, 31, passed on August 14, 2024 in Montgomery, AL ..

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. EST on Monday, August 26, 2024 in the C.T. Chapel of Taylor Funeral. Interment to follow at the Howard Chapel AME Church Cemetery. Public viewing is 12:00-5:00 p.m. EST on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Briana Simone Jelks was born on December 20, 1992 at Sinai Hospital in Detroit, Michigan to Shomen and Casandra Jelks, Sr. Surrounded by her loved ones, Briana departed this life and entered eternal rest on August 14, 2024 at Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery, AL.

Briana was a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ. She demonstrated what love is all about in her relationships with family and friends. Briana shared a special bond with cousins Tasheona, Aubryelle, and Danielle. It was a sisterhood she enjoyed.

Briana graduated from Oak Park High School in Oak Park, Michigan in June 2011.

After high school she worked for a short time in retail for Macy’s Department Store. She then became employed as a sales rep for AFNI Corp. doing business for Verizon Wireless.

Briana had one son with Rufus Farrow. Alexander Farrow was born on February 15, 2016 in Opelika, AL.

Briana is preceded in death by a son, Daniel Moore (Rashaad) who died at birth on Feb. 17, 2023. Grandparents George W. and Lula Bell Jelks and Harvey and Annie Madden.

Briana leaves to cherish her memory. One son, Alexander Farrow and his dad Rufus Farrow. Her parents Shomen and Casandra Jelks Sr.; Three Brothers, Kunta (Fallon) Jelks, Shomen Jelks Jr., Ivan Jelks; one sister, Shermaine Jelks; four aunt, Georgia Mae (Wordell) Brundidge, Laura West, Lula Mitchenor, and Pamela Johnson; three uncles, Albert (Betty) Jelks, George (Joann) Jelks Jr., and James Hill; a very dear nephew Shomen Jelks III and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
