Obituary For Mr. Melvin Nathaniel Moore, Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Melvin Nathaniel Moore Jr., 26, of Orangeburg, SC, will be held 1:30pm, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel, 2868 Columbia Road, Orangeburg, with interment to follow at Gethsemane Memorial Garden.

Mr. Moore passed away Friday, August 9, 2024.

Melvin Nathaniel Moore Jr, son of Melvin & Juanita Moore Sr., was born August 20, 1997, in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He left his earthly home August 9, 2024, at the age of 26.

Melvin, affectionately known as ā€œMJ,ā€ was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County and was a 2015 graduate of Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.

Melvin was employed at Allied Air, Orangeburg South Carolina.

Melvin accepted Christ at an early age and attended both Star of Hope Apostolic Church and Bull Swamp Baptist Church.

Melvin was a member of the Boys Club.

Melvin was preceded in death by his paternal

grandparents, Nathaniel & Lucille Moore; and maternal grandfather, Willie Jones.

Melvin leaves to cherish precious memories: his loving parents, Melvin and Juanita Moore of the home; his devoted sister, Tamera J. Moore of the home; maternal grandmother, Mozelle Jones; his loving granny, Gussie E. Dantzler; aunts: Tina Blanding, Cathy Martinez, Sandra (Karl) Smith, Gail (Eugene) Stokes and Pastor Cynthia (David) Randolph; uncles: Orlando Moore, Jeffrey Moore, Willie Jones Jr. and Harry L. Jones; god son, Kristian Eli Clark; special friends: Amanda & Makhi; a close friend who was like a brother, Earl Clark Jr.; and a host of grandaunts, granduncles, cousins, other loving relatives and dear friends.

Public viewing will be held Friday, August 16, 2024, from 1:00pm - 6:00pm.

Family and friends may visit 1580 Rhoad Street, Orangeburg or call Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg.
