Obituary For Lois Dalton Hairston

Lois Dalton Hairston, 89, of Madison, NC passed Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Public viewing will be held Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Mt. Carmel Holiness Church, Madison, NC from 2:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m with the funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Davis Primitive Baptist Church, Hwy #704, Madison,NC.

Lois Dalton Hairston, born September 24, 1934 to the late Johnnie Dalton and Katie Martin Dalton. She departed this life on August 14, 2024 surrounded by family and friends.

Lois was educated in Stokes County Schools. She was employed at Burlington Industries and was also a caregiver for several years. She joined Mt. Carmel Holiness Church, Madison, NC where her mother served as Church Mother and she was a member of the Senior Choir.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Richard Hairston, Sr., daughter, Treva H. Ziglar, son Michael Ray Hairston and grandson, Donovan Hairston. Four brothers; James M. Dalton (Dorothy), Robert Lee Dalton, Samuel Dalton and Weldon Ray Dalton, one sister; Lonia Geneva Welch.

She leaves to cherish her memory: One daughter; Patricia Hairston of the home, two sons; Donald Richard “Rick” Hairston (Dane) and Johnnie Hairston both of Walnut Cove, NC. Sister-in-law; Norma Duncan of Maryland, brother in-law; Michael Hairston (Sarah) of Brown Summit, NC, Several grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, also her honorary friend for over 50 years, Paulette Foye.
