Obituary For Geraldine Cleveland-Jefferson

Geraldine Cleveland-Jefferson, daughter of the late Zeddie Lee Cleveland and Obbie James (G.W.) Cleveland, was born on December 8, 1953, in Attala County in Kosciusko, MS. She graduated from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science degree. She moved to Omaha, Nebraska where she met and married her now ex-husband Ronald Jefferson.

Geraldine began her working career in Omaha with local businesses throughout the city. She was the Assistant Manager at Woolworth's and once it closed, she took a position at First National Bank in their Vault Department. Eventually, she became the Director of Finance at Madonna School and retired from that position after 25 years of service. She was an active member of the Cherokee Lodge of the Eastern Star organization until her health failed.

She was a dedicated and active member of Ebenezer Baptist Church for over 25 years and served as a Trustee for over 10 years until her health failed and she was unable to attend.

Geraldine enjoyed shopping, playing cards, going to the casino, and working with children with disabilities. On August 4th, 2024, Geraldine departed this life peacefully at her home in Omaha NE.

Geraldine Cleveland-Jefferson was preceded in death by her mother, Zeddie Lee Cleveland and father, Obbie James (G.W.) Cleveland; aunts Rena Brown, Pearl Carr, Ozie Bell Lee, L.G. Riley and Essie Lee Gamlin; uncles, Golden Lee, Percy Lee, Clydell Lee, and M.L. Lee. She leaves to mourn her passing an aunt, Vera Darlene Lee, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and her dearest friends, Retonya Lasley, Jamie Riley, Gloria Dale and the Ebenezer Baptist Church Family out of Omaha, Nebraska.

INTERMENT: Antioch Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS
