Obituary For Mae Lou Dickerson

Mae Lou Dickerson, 84 of Eden, NC passed Monday, August 5, 2024. Public viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends at Assembly Chapel, 5453 Cascade Rd., Cascade, Va from 1:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 10, 2024 with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mae Lou Dickerson, age 84 passed away peacefully on August 5, 2024 at Davina Dialysis. Born on April 22, 1940, Mae Lou was born to James and Rose Hampton. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and cherished memories.

Mae joined Assembly Chapel Church on December 28, 2014 and was a faithful member until her health declined. She was employed at Cone Mills, Inc. in Greensboro, NC for years and was a dependable, trustworthy worker until her retirement.
Mae Lou was a fighter - she fought a good fight and she has “WON THE VICTORY”. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Mattie Wilson, Dorothy Dickerson and one brother, Ernest Hampton.

Mae Lou is survived by her children: Larry (Faye), Penny, Mary (Jerry) and Tyrone(Shamica), sister, Rosetta Dickerson, eight grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family and friends remember Mae Lou for her big smile and laughter. Whether it was watching her “stories” or the animal channel she found joy in spending time with her family. Her warm smile, compassionate heart and sense of humor endeared her to everyone she met.

As we bid farewell to Mae Lou, let us remember and honor the impact she had on our lives. May her soul rest in eternal peace and may the memories we shared bring comfort during this difficult time.
