Obituary For Dolphus Edward Towers

Dolphus Edward Towers, born September 13, 1935, to the late Edward Towers and Velma Veasley Towers Brown in Kosciusko, MS, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024, at home in Horn Lake, MS with his devoted wife present.

Dolphus was married to the late Ruth B. Lee in 1951. He was a very supportive stepfather to Ida Cheeks and the late Annie R. Greenlee.

Later he married the late Willie Kate Brown. To this union one daughter, Denise Towers was born. He also was a devoted stepfather to Jeanette Brown and the late Willie D. and Curtis Brown. And known as Pawpaw to Kayla Mann.

Dolphus united in holy matrimony to Paulette Patterson on December 14, 2006, and they relocated to Horn Lake, MS. They joined Brown Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Bartholomew Orr in Southaven, MS.

Dolphus accepted Christ at an early age and joined Marble Rock Missionary Baptist Church. He also attended Marble rock School.

Dolphus was employed with Kosciusko Water and Light company for over 30 years until his retirement.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a devoted and loving Wife: Paulette P. Towers; Daughter: Denise Towers; Stepdaughters: Rhonda (Melvin) Walls, Jeanette Brown, Ida Cheeks; Stepson: Billie J. Brown, Jr.; Sister: Annie Sue Greene of Milwaukee, WI; Brother: Sam Brown, Jr. of Sallis, MS; In-laws: Travis (Rosie) Patterson; Rev. William (Ruth) Higgins of Surprise, AZ; Clifford Lathan (Carolyn) Patterson and Bobbie Patterson. Four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Those preceding him in death; father, Edward Towers; Mother, Velma Veasley Towers Brown; Stepfather, Sam Brown Sr.; Brother, Hubert Towers; Sister, Sarah Catherine Brown; Brother-in-law, David Brown; Sister-in-law, Dorothy Brown.

PLACE OF SERVICE: Winters Funeral Home Chapel, Kosciusko, MS

DATE OF SERVICE: Saturday 7/27/2024 at 11:00 a.m.

INTERMENT: Parkway Cemetery, Kosciusko, MS

Rest in peace Mr. Towers. I hope you are with your co-workers sitting around a table like you did when I was a kid at the Kosciusko City Light and Water barn. Tell my daddy, Gerald King that I miss him so much. He just got his angel wings in June. I will always remember the times me and my brothers got to spend with you and with your family.
