Obituary For Bobbie Lynn Alexander

Our Love, Bobbie Lynn Mapp Alexander, was born on April 30, 1965 to Bobby and Emma Mapp. She was the oldest of her three siblings.

Lynn, as she was affectionately called by those that knew and loved her, attended the Greene County School System and graduated from Greene Taliaferro Comprehensive High in 1983.

At an early age, Lynn gave her life to Christ and became a member of the Siloam Missionary Baptist Church. She served as church secretary and bookkeeper for more than 30 years.

On September 3,1988, Lynn said "I Do" to Argene Alexander and to their union two children were born Tyya and Travon.

Lynn wore many hats and was known to go above and beyond with all tasks given. She was employed with Farmer's Bank, Stewart Finance, Greene County Christian Outreach and the Greene County School System until she answered the roll to join our Lord and Savior. While keeping family first, Lynn managed to be a pillar in her church as well as this community. She did it with the most joyful spirit and willfulness to help anyone with any need. She earned the title of friend to many but was loved by all she came in contact with.

Lynn Alexander leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 35 years, Argene Alexander; two children, Tyya Alexander and Travon

Alexander; grand-daughter Dallas Jackson; her parents, Bobby and
Emma Mapp; two brothers, Manfred (Digna) Mapp and Orlando
(Zandra) Mapp; one sister, Barbara (Wayne) West; and a host of nieces,

I was truly blessed to have worked with Mrs. Alexander. She lit up a room with her smile, personality, warm heart, and positive attitude. She was a very hard-working woman who truly loved her kids and the children of Greene County. When asking her how her kids were, she would smile from ear to ear. The love she had for her family was ever present. It's sad that we won't see her beautiful smile anymore but Heaven will shine brighter with it's newest angel Ms. Lynn. God bless her and May she rest in peace. Much love to ALL of her family and friends (most I have taught). I love you all and will keep you all in my heart and in my prayers. God bless. (I have choosen the red candle because red is a color that is associated with Love- Ms. Lynn was love and will be remembered as a beacon of love to those who were blessed enough to have known her). Forever in my heart, Dr. Maryann Bruno

To have known Lynn was a gift in itself: from her infectious smiles whenever we crossed paths with her, from calling to the board of education to get our kids ready to transition from high to college or whatever was needed, from sharing moments in the isle of whatever store we were in about the grandbabies who had replaced our young adulys, from recently sending email after email about transcripts because we were playing phone tag all because we were doing our motherly duties for our grown children. We will truly miss Lynn, but she has labored here and is taking her rest. To the Alexander and Mapp family we extend our sincere condolences. May all our fond memories of her soften the pain on our hearts. As for Lynn, until we meet again. (Tynasha, Olivia, Christian and Knoland).

Saddened and shocked to hear this news. Lynn was a true blessing to me. We go way back working together at the bank. She encouraged me to date Steve back when we were there. Glad she did. She was also a great support for me at the school. We had good times laughing as two Union Point raised girls. I could always count on her to tell me like it was. I am happy to have called her a good friend. I will miss her! Many prayers for peace and comfort to come for you all. She was proud of her family and shared stories of you often.
