Obituary For Deborah Harris

Deborah Harris, passed Friday, July 19, 2024.

Deborah Ann Hollis Harris, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie and friend was the daughter of the late Elder Welton Hollis and the late Mosezee Hollis. She was born on June 2, 1952. Deborah was the cherished wife of Tyrone Harris.

She was educated in the Spartanburg County Public School System (Foster’s Grove High School).

Deborah met the love of her life (Tyrone) while employed at CK Holding Inc. (Hardee’s) in Spartanburg. They were a couple from that time onward. The family included Bernita (Deborah’s Joy) and later came Trevis (Deborah’s baby boy).

She was a Lifelong Member of the United House of Prayer for All People in Spartanburg where she faithfully served. At an early age, she began singing with her sisters. She also sang with the Cunningham Newcomers. She served as the group’s president which was well known throughout the country. She also sang with the adult choir. Deborah served as President of the Sympathy Committee and She assisted as a kitchen manager for the ministry where She served delicious meals to the community. She retired from CK Holdings restaurants where she worked for 30 years until her injury.

Deborah cherished life and found immense happiness in serving her family and her church. She was like a mother to many, welcoming numerous youths and families into her home and preparing countless meals for her guests and the church. Her love for singing was boundless; she filled her home with melodies of praise, uplifting the spirits of all who heard her. She also loved to shop. If you went shopping with her, be careful because you would always leave with the most items. Her warm smile could light up any room, and her sweet spirit would shine through her love for God and others. Selfless in her actions, she was loved by all who knew her. Deborah was passionate about teaching and helping others.

Deborah leaves a rich legacy of loved ones, who will forever cherish her and the joy she brought to all. This legacy includes her loving husband, Tyrone Harris; one daughter, Bernita (Gary) Foster of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one son, Trevis (Shana) Harris of Spartanburg, South Carolina; four sisters, Sharon Gregory, Diane (Isaac) Gory, Javalin (Elder Eugene) Fuller all of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Dorna (Norman) Wynn of Norfolk, Virginia; a special sister, Jackie (David) Bannister of Winnsboro, South Carolina; one brother, Fredrick Hollis of Spartanburg, South Carolina; Special friends, Frances Jeter and Seadonia Fernandez; six grandchildren, one great grandchild, Dekari Lynch; ten sisters In-laws; seven brothers In-laws; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family and friends.

My Sister, I just don't have words to say. I know so many of us prayed and prayed for healing, I guess I can say our prayer's just didn't work, when our LORD Sweet JESUS the Christ wanted you to come home. I know that is a great thing, being in the present of GOD. I am going to miss you so much, I know we have to go on, but nothing will ever be the same without you. I know your family feels the same. So many people are gone. I can't stop crying. After the sad tears stop. I will tears of joy when I think of you and the good times we had. I will carry you in my heart always. I love you ❤️ sister 🧑, Always
