Obituary For Helen Bell Mayfield

( August 25, 1940 – July 13, 2024 )

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen (Bell) Mayfield, 83, of Tyler, TX will be Saturday, July 20, 2024, at New Zion Baptist Church with Dr. S. L. Curry serving as eulogist. Burial will follow in Kay Cemetery under the direction of John R. Harmon Undertaking Co. Mrs. Mayfield transitioned July 13, 2024, in Tyler.

She was born August 25, 1940, in Winona, Texas where she attended Winona Public Schools. Helen was a longtime housewife and a lifelong resident of Smith County. She was also a lifelong member of New Zion Baptist Church where she sang in the sanctuary choir.

Preceding her in death were her husband: Heardean Mayfield; son: Larry Mayfield; parents: Teddy and Helen Bell; sister: Rose Bell; and four brothers: Willie, Fred, Johnny B., and Bobby Bell; and daughter-in-law: Brenda Mayfield.

Left to cherish her memories are her son: Gary Mayfield; step- grandson: Dominique Bradley; sister: Polly Holder; sister-in-law: Christine Radford; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be Friday, 2-8pm at John R. Harmon Undertaking Co.
