Obituary For Betty Sue Martin

Betty Sue Martin, age 79, of 1336 West Hill Avenue, Valdosta, GA transitioned from rest to reward in the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, July 12, 2024 at The Orchard at Stone Creek Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility, Hahira, GA. Betty entered this life on December 15, 1944, in Valdosta, GA to the loving and maturing parents the late Mae Love Sampson Alexander and stepfather the late Joe Alexander.

Betty was a member of the Saint Timothy African Methodist Episcopal Church and a 1961 graduate of Pinevale High School, Valdosta, GA

Betty was united in holy matrimony to the late Rev. Eddie Lee Martin. To this union one child was born

Betty was described as a beautiful person inside and out. She exhibited love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, meekness and self-control in every endeavor in which she participated. She was an avid lover of music. She was the musician for several churches in the surrounding area touching countless lives before her health begin to decline.

Betty worked as a housekeeper throughout Lowndes County, GA for many years. After her retirement she spent her time sewing, cooking, reading, gardening, singing, listening to music, playing the piano and time with family and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Katherine Martin, parents, grandparents, several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Betty leaves behind to treasure her precious memories one aunt Emma L. Sampson, Valdosta, GA, caregivers and cousins Warren, Jr. and Carolyn Sampson Burgess of Valdosta, GA, a host of family, friends and extended family at the Orchard Assisted Living and Memory Care Facility.

Graveside Services for the late Betty Sue Martin, will be Thursday, July 18, 2024, 10:00 A.M. at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Valdosta. GA.

Public Viewing will be Wednesday, July 17, 2024, 1:00 P. M. to 6:00 P. M., Scott and Roberts Mortuary, Inc., 312 E. M. L. K. Dr., Valdosta, GA
