Obituary For Charles Leo Strickland

Charles Leo Strickland was born on July 9, 1959 in Valdosta, Georgia to the late Frank J. Strickland, Sr. and Ella Mae Strickland.

Charles was a graduate of Valdosta High School. Class of “78. He also attended Fort Valley State College. He was employed with DaVita Dialysis Center for over 15 years. He attended St. James Missionary Baptist Church and sang in the Hayes Senior Choir until his health began to fail.

Charles was preceded in death by his father, Frank J. Strickland; sisters Emma Jean Williams and Brenda Strickland and one niece Antwan Roe.

He leaves to cherish his memory, mother Ella Mae Strickland; one son James Green of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters Kathy M. Ponder (Raymond) of Valdosta, GA, Samantha Strickland of Jacksonville, FL; three brothers Frank J. Strickland, Jr (Barbara) of Columbus, GA, Michael E. Strickland and Corey J. Strickland both of Valdosta; 2 nieces Lesliann Huston of Valdosta, GA and Stephanie Young-Jones Lake Park, GA; 6 aunts Berta Bentley, FL, Christine Molbey, Lorita Johnson, Ula Givens, Ruth D. Solomon all of Madsion, FL and two uncle J.B. Strickland of Quitman, GA and Jimmy Davis of Shenandoah, VA; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

Funeral services were Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home chapel in Quitman with Elder Raymond Ponder officiating.
