Obituary For Julia Lewis

(February 19, 1949---July 1, 2024)

TYLER----Funeral services for Ms. Julia Lewis, 75, are scheduled for 10:30 am, Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Higher Heights Baptist Church with Pastor James Hawkins, eulogist. Burial will be on a later date in Hopewell Community Cemetery under direction of John R Harmon Undertaking Company.

Ms. Lewis was born on February 19, 1949 in Jamaica, New York and transitioned on July 1, 2024 at her residence in Tyler, Texas.

She was a graduate of Joseph S. Clark High School in New Orleans, Louisiana and furthered her studies at Straight Business School in New Orleans. Ms Lewis was a resident of Smith Count since 2005, was was retired and she was a member of Higher Heights Baptist Church where she served as an usher and member of to the choir. Ms Lewis served in the United States Army.

Ms. Lewis is preceded in death by her husband: James Lewis; one grandson and two brothers. Ms. Lewis is survived by one daughter: Elyria K Jacobs of Hammond, Louisiana; sister: Lubertha L Kelly from Tyler, Texas; brother Floyd Reneau of Bangkok, Thailand; one grandchild and three great grandchildren.
