Obituary For Edward Swanson

EDWARD T. SWANSON, son of late Edward Thomas, Jr. and the late Rosalee Swanson Thomas was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

He grew up on the westside of Steelton and was educated in the Steelton School District. Edward was a dedicated and hardworking man that held many jobs to provide and take care of his family that included over 25 years of service with the Pinnacle Health System from where he retired.

β€œBootsy” as he was affectionately known, was a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan who enjoyed watching the game with his family. In his spare time, he had a love for riding his motorcycle.

Edward T. Swanson, at the age of 76, entered into eternal life on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years Mary E. Swanson; his granddaughter, Jada Lynne Greene; his paternal grandparents, Edward Thomas Sr. and Lizzie Thomas; his maternal grandparents, Sidney Swanson and Celeste Swanson; his brothers, Robert Thomas and Donald Thomas; his nephews, Shawn Thomas Jamison and Terelle Thomas.

He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy his children, Belinda Terry, Lateta Greene-Thompson, Amechere Greene (Chonita), Nadji Greene (Nichelle), Jarelle Greene (Jennifer), all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild all of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; his siblings, Maryann Thomas, Roy Thomas (Angelina), Celester Simms(Conley), Carl Thomas, Linda Thomas (Daisey) and host of other family and friends that he will be missed by.

Edward's life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 in the Chapel of the Major H. Winfield Funeral Home, Steelton with viewing and visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
